Dan is a Subject Matter Expert in recruitment strategy, branding, sourcing, candidate experience, hiring manager training, training recruitment teams, and delivering peak headcount. Dan has the experience of working in companies ranging from 75 to 300K employees, including GE, Samsung and ARM. Dan has managed global teams from 3 to 30. Dan is on the Board of Directors for the Austin Recruiter Network and the Kappa Sigma Austin Area Alumni Association. Dan is a former athlete and enjoys Rugby Football, supporting the Austin Huns Rugby Club, locally in Austin. Dan lives with his beautiful wife Lisa just south of Austin, TX. He and Lisa have 5 wonderful children, and they are active in the Foster & Adoption community.
Brandon Howland joined the StarHire Team in 2024. Brandon brings over 13 years of recruitment experience, training, human resources, and the professional development of employees. Brandon started his recruiting career in 2011 as an Army Talent Acquisition Specialist. Just two years later Brandon became the Talent Acquisition Manager for the Warwick Recruiting Office in Rhode Island, followed by the Talent Acquisition Manager for the Waterbury Recruiting Office in Connecticut and the South Austin Recruiting Office in Texas. In 2020, Brandon became the Director of Training for the 5th Recruiting Brigade, where he created, implemented, and led the training and development of over 3,000 Army Recruiting Managers and Recruiters. Brandon concluded his last two years in the Army as the Assistant Operations Manager for the 5th Recruiting Brigade. Encompassing seven Recruiting Battalions, covering 9 states, Brandon was responsible for the day-to-day operations, collaboration with community partners, candidate acquisition opportunities, staffing, branding, and budgeting. Brandon would eventually retire from the Army after 21 years on 1 November 2023.
Brandon is originally from Massachusetts, and currently lives in Buda, TX with his wife Maria, and their three daughters. Brandon is a man of Faith, and enjoys spending time with his family, working out at the YMCA, dancing to country and Latin music, playing guitar, reading books, and traveling. Brandon is also a graduate of Grand Canyon University where he received his bachelor’s in applied management, graduating Cum Laude, and his master’s in public administration. Brandon’s next goal is to attend the University of Texas at Austin to pursue his PhD.
Jerry Rivera joined the StarHire team in 2023. Jerry brings over 18 years in recruitment, training, Human Resources and professional development of employees. Jerry has implemented on-site contingent worker programs, including recruitment and program management in the semiconductor industry for eight years. He has lead network engineer and network specialist
recruitment in the enterprise telecommunications industry for four and a half years.
Jerry has most recently recruited for data focused roles in the financial services industry before joining StarHire. Jerry brings exemplary communication and organizational skills, with a strong background in high level account management, employee supervision and recruitment. He also promotes trustworthy, long-standing, professional relationships with clientele, management, employees, and peers. Jerry has worked with companies ranging from 100 to 250,000 employees, including Manpower, Charter Communications, and KPMG.
Jerry is an original Austinite and lives with his wife, Alicia, and youngest son in Southwest Austin. They have three boys, and their oldest son lives in Georgetown,TX with his wife and three-year old daughter. Jerry's middle son is at Texas A&M University studying Engineering. Jerry enjoys spending time outdoors with his family either along the river, exploring state parks, biking around Town Lake or spending summers at Schlitterbahn Water Park. He also enjoys
cooking, as his specialty is grilling and smoking meats for his family and friends to enjoy. Jerry and his family are founding members of Vertical Chapel church, and he serves as a leader of several ministry teams including STAR Career Workshop, Hosting, Marriage, Men, and Financial Peace University.
